Art From The Heart
The message of Devon’s art is very simple: “Mistakes simply aren’t mistakes in the world of a Devon painting. In all my work, I make many mistakes — but rather than letting them remain mistakes, I simply find a way to shift them into fanciful and fun creations.”
Devon does the same thing with the frames for her paintings. After collecting beat up old frames that nobody wants, she hand paints them (and the mats she uses) with the same uninhibited imagination that she brings to her art. This “funky framing” technique not only turns junk into something special - it also leaves Devon with a very good feeling inside.
People end up inspired believing that if I can do this work, they can do whatever their heart desires. Devon takes things people throw away and makes them loveable.
